Personalized Notebook

School-aged kids love this…who wouldn’t? And it’s a cinch to make with just a hole puncher, cardstock and of course, great graphics!

Materials:
- 1 sheet cardstock or paper of your choice (I used 120 lb watercolor cut to 8.5 x 11 size)
- 1 wirebound notebook
- graphics of your choice (I used images from Calico Spring Bunnies )
- tools needed: hole puncher, long-nosed pliers, binder clip
- optional: laminator or laminating sheets
Instructions:
- With the pliers, straighten out both ends of the wire that binds the notebook. With a rolling motion, you will be able to remove the wire from the notebook quite easily. Tip: after straightening the wire, curve the tip so that it will go through the holes more readily.
- Remove the top cover of the notebook and with the binder clips, clip the remaining notebook pages, making sure that the holes line up.
- Measure the length and width of the cover, and, based on those measurements, design a new cover for the notebook using graphics of your choice. Print and cut to the right size. If you want to, laminate your design.
- Using the old cover as your guide (just put it on top of the cover you designed), punch holes on the new cover.
- Carefully remove the binder clips from the notebook pages and put in the new cover, again, making sure that the holes line up. Clip everything again to keep in place.
- With the same rolling motion, reinsert the wire into the holes. When you’re done reinserting the wire, bend the wire tips to “lock” them in place.
