I always look forward to Saturday’s Inspiration Challenge at SplitcoastStamper – you never know what website Adurie is going to pick, but you know for sure that you’re going to be inspired! This Saturday, she showed us her own Art of Journaling Pinterest board, and oh, my gosh, what a feast for the eyes! There were so many ideas, so many things to be inspired about, not only in art, but also in writing, I almost forgot to make a card, LOL! Anyway, after going over everything Audrie pinned, I went back to what “spoke” to me the most: this journal. I never tire looking at graceful curves, scrolls and spirals, and that’s what inspired me to make this paper piercing card.
If ever there was a card that would capture how my dear hubby and I relate, this would be it, LOL! This card took a bit of planning and time, but I didn’t mind…I enjoyed making this card, with all its tiny bits and pieces (and besides, during our anniversary, I didn’t make a card because it was during my crazy-busy time).
I am glad there are several simultaneous challenges going on at SplitcoastStampers… sometimes, it is really difficult for me to get those creative juices flowing! Anyway, for this card, it started with the the Mixability Challenge which is to create anything with a ‘sandy shore’ – creating the sandy texture was important. Next, was Virtual Stamping Night’s challenge “Sitting by the Campfire” – which is to make a card that represents the warmth from a campfire. Finally, Saturday’s Inspiration Challenge site is Bassett Furniture, and I saw this starfish!
We have close friends who will be celebrating their anniversary this month, and normally, I don’t make a card for anniversary. But, I missed their birthdays last February and March (it was a crazy time for me!), so this card is to-make-up-for-not-making-you-a-birthday-card kind of card, LOL! And it just so happened that Sandy’s Theme for The Paper Players this week is Wedded Bliss, yay! Also, Wendy’s challenge in Friday’s Free for All is to use a “wee bit o’ vellum” (or use a lot, LOL), so it’s for that challenge as well (I got lucky on that one).
