***Update 1*** Please scroll down to the end of this post for instructions and a template for this project.

***Update 2*** So excited to share that this project was chosen by Lesley Croghan, creator of The Paper Players Challenge, to be the headliner (doing the happy dance)! Thank you, Lesley and the design team ladies, this is such an honor!

PP Headliner

It’s the 200th Challenge at The Paper Players and I wanted to do something special to celebrate it! The design team ladies there are always inspiring and encouraging, pushing me out of my comfort zone with their challenges, making me a better artist and paper crafter (I think, LOL!). I chose to do Jaydee’s Sketch Challenge #61, and Anne Marie’s card for it is simply adorable!

Of course, it usually takes two or more challenges to get me going, and at SplitcoastStampers, Tuesday’s color challenge is to use Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party and Gumball Green – oh my goodness, these colors chosen by Vicki are simply dreamy!

For this project, I used a template that I made the previous year – a recessed frame made from a 12″ x 12″ sheet of cardstock. I added embossed strips to the frame itself, then made a small envelope for a gift card to put in the center. Before sticking the envelope though, a double strip of  white ribbons were wrapped around the frame. The sentiment was printed using the font EnglischeSchT, punched into a circle then matted. The handmade flowers were sponged with Broken China distressed ink before rolling them up.

Here is another view of  the gift card holder:
