Several kids we know are having birthdays this month so I’m busy creating cards for them. This one is for my godson. Originally, I planned to use a plane sticker, but it turned out that I don’t have one (go figure, LOL!); next, I thought I’d use a plane button, but it was too small; so I ended up paper-piecing a plane instead.
***Update: Joanne chose this card to be A Cut Above! Yippee! Thanks for choosing my card, Joanne!
It was fun to make – I used this pattern to make a template in Photoshop, then imported it in Cricut/SCAL to cut. For the banners, it was the same process – with the exception of the banner with the sentiment. The greeting was typed using Arial font, then distorted to follow the curving waves of the banner. Next, it was printed in yellow cardstock then cut (this process is probably a whole lot easier if I have the right stamps, LOL!).
This card follows Ann’s versatile sketch at The Paper Players (the card she made using this sketch is just drop-dead gorgeous!). The cardstock papers I used are: Recollections – blue cardbase, black, red, yellow, orange; GP – white; Queen and Co – Birthday Lime Stripes; Bazzill – lt blue (I don’t know the exact name because it’s from my scraps).
