It’s my second daughter’s birthday today – she is 19! I still remember the sleep-deprived, exhausted, and chaotic days and weeks following her birth, but my husband and I agree: we wouldn’t have had it any other way. We are proud of the person she has turned out to be – and also proud that we have survived those early days, LOL! This card is a humorous and realistic take on being parents – I know a lot of you can relate!
I went CAS on this card because I was inspired by Tenia’s card. She is the featured CAS stamper this week at SplitcoastStampers. I love the diagonally placed main panel with the sentiment on it. Over at The Paper Players, Sandy’s challenge is to use buttons! I used to sew a lot, so I have plenty of those in my stash. Putting googly eyes on them was an off-shoot of my previous card – and I just found out that there’s a term for it: eye-bombing! First there was photo-bombing, then there’s eye-bombing, LOL! I found a lot of funny images on Google and Pinterest that had me laughing.
It’s still DTGD week at SplitcoastStampers, and this is for giogio’s challenge, too. I’ll update this post next week for the details. Here is a close-up of the buttons:
I used Navajo and Tropical (Bazill) cardstock for the central panel (I seem to be favoring those colors a lot these days). Here is the sentiment I made in Photoshop, you can grab it by right-clicking on the image to save in your computer:
