Small Miracles

Posted by: gc_adminin Projects in Projects

The picture explains the title,  but you may be wondering why this particular project? Well, it has been quite a while since I’ve done major crafting because of our move, and I thought that it would be a good idea to join Splitcoast Stamper’s  Dare to Get Dirty Challenge  this year to get my mojo going.  This project is for two challenges: TruCarMa‘s and debbiedee‘s.

I used the Hi-Top Baby Sneaker Template  to make the shoe, the lovely green paper is from American Girl SuperPaper Pad, the pink  cardstock is a scrap from previous projects, and the white cardstock is Georgia-Pacific 110lb. The hand stitching was done using 6 strands of yellow-green embroidery floss, and the pink ribbon is from Offray.

As for the sentiment, I printed it on the green paper using the font Jenkins v2.0 then cut it out with a circle punch, another punched circle framed it. This saying was on a cross-stitched piece I did a long time ago (just before I had my first baby, lol). I hope you like!

From Baby Shoes to Cool Sneakers

Posted by: gc_adminin Projects in Projects

The last time I uploaded new products at Gem’s Cottage, it was for these oh-so-cute baby shoes:

Well, I had so much fun working on these hi-top and low-top baby shoes, that as soon as I finished them, I began working on the teen-aged version. Well, actually not just for teens, because as an adult, I confess to wearing these shoes, too. My feet never did well wearing high-heeled shoes, and though I have a pair or two for special occassions, my go-to shoes have always been sneakers. I love, love, love sneakers! And since I promised a sneak peek, here’s how they look like:

If you’re wondering, yes, these are all made from cardstock, ribbon and glue! And if you’re wondering when will the template be up for sale, then the answer is Saturday next week!  now!  You can find the cool sneaker template here already!
