Beautiful Friend Tag

This tag is one of my favorite entries for the DTGD Week at Splitcoaststampers, and I got word last week that it is now in the Honors Gallery! Yay! The challenges I entered it for were: to make something with the vintage look, use pink, green and a heart in a project, to feature a feathered friend and to make a tag.

Petite Purse-a

It is still DTGD Week at Splicoaststampers and I’m continuing with the challenges. One of the challenges made me remember this template, the earlier Printastic versions (Pastel series, Black & White series and the Camouflage series) and the popular project ideas for it (Petite Purse for Mom, Teacher, and Chocoholic Mini Survival Kit). The earliest release date was 6 years ago, so, yeah, this template has been around for quite a while. I still remember it fondly (it was easy to make from just 1 sheet of card stock!), so I dug it up, dusted it, and gave it a fresh look! I still kept the beaded handle, though, I think the beads still make it look cool even after all these years…

Happy Anniversary

It is Dare to Get Dirty week again at Splitcoaststampers, a week that I’ve always looked forward to for the past three years!  I love participating in the challenges, and this year is no exception! (You can tell I’m really excited, I’ve used two exclamation points already.) However, I gave myself one more challenge this year: do not buy anything new.  I know that there’s enough material in my craft stash to make a lot of cards (my fellow paper crafters, I know you can relate, lol).

It’s the second week of sizzling hot temps here in Southern California, so it’s the perfect time to be enjoying the great indoors! Of course, it’s also the perfect time to be making Christmas cards, and here’s a white hot one I made during DTGD week at SplitcoastStampers (held last July 29 – August 3). If you’re wondering what DTGD is, check out SplitcoastStampers, it is one event that I join every year  – I ask my family to give me this week off – because it does wonders with my mojo (well, aside from the fact that I have an excuse for not cooking, lol!).

Going back to an old favorite project this time, here is another entry for the DTGD Challenge.  The template can be found here and the instructions are here. The beautifully embossed cream paper is from The Paper Company, while the red polka dot embossed cardstock is a Bazzil Basics. Red paper bag from Hallmark, black ribbon by Offray. Keeping this post short because I babbled a lot in my previous one, LOL!

Big Squishy Hug

This card is the result of a scavenger hunt. Really. It’s a Diamond Fold Card, another entry for the DTGD Challenge.  It all started with that digital image – if I have to use a good image, I know I won’t be stamping it (I am a bad stamper, I live in awe of the ones who do it!). So, off I go hunting for that perfect image (and for those who hoard digital art like I do, you know that it means going through several hundred – yes, hundreds! – of images)  and happily settled on a pair of hugging girls from Sweet Memories by Tina Wenke. Next, I thought of using paper piercing to frame the girls and I chose a square frame from Gem’s Cottage’s Paper Piercing Floral Set (that was an easy part).

This is a card entry for the DTGD Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  I am keeping it clean and simple (CAS) this time because I do think it doesn’t need anything more (of course, my right hand did not agree, it secretly scurried to get some ribbon, but fortunately, my left hand wrestled it and made my right hand put back the ribbon and other embellishments it was holding, rofl!). Inside, the sentiment reads, “Thank you for being such a sweet friend!”

The picture explains the title,  but you may be wondering why this particular project? Well, it has been quite a while since I’ve done major crafting because of our move, and I thought that it would be a good idea to join Splitcoast Stamper’s  Dare to Get Dirty Challenge  this year to get my mojo going.  This project is for two challenges: TruCarMa‘s and debbiedee‘s.
