I wanted to capture the light, airy feel of a meadow in spring, with blooms of delicate wildflowers, and decided that the best way to do this will be to do it with simple straight stitches. For this card, I cut a 2″ x 3″ piece of watercolor paper and sponged it with Dandelion and Lady Bug inks from Memento, misting it a bit to make the colors blend evenly. After it has dried, I used two strands of embroidery thread and followed the pattern below, using green for leaves and white for flowers. Geranium birthday

It’s the last day of Dare to Get Dirty Week at SplitcoastStampers, and I’m trying to do as much challenges as I can. For this card, I get to cross out 8 challenges from my list! Yay! The geranium image and the paper piercing are digis from the Paper Piercing Floral Set, while the hummingbird is also a digi from Window Reflections. I’m not too crazy about how the digis printed because my printer is running low on cyan… but oh, well! The sentiment is by Jean Paul Richter and printed using the American Classic font.
