This card was inspired by the tiles in the background used by Etsy shop Vintage Atmosphere (vintageatmosphere), the inspiration site chosen this week by guest hostess Nancy Williams. It is also for 5 challenges during Dare to Get dirty Week at SplitcoastStampers. Continue reading »
The fact that this card reminds my kids of the movie Frozen was not my intention. It just evolved that way. My real intention was to combine as much challenges as I could from the Dare to Get Dirty Week at SplitcoastStampers. So, I started with this card last Monday, and every day, I would incorporate one or more challenges into this card until it was finished – I could cross out 14 challenges with this one (I think this is a record for me, LOL!). Before I continue, here is a pic of the card when opened (click on the image to make it larger):Continue reading »
This card was inspired by this planter from Leif Shop, the wonderful inspiration site chosen by Audrie this week. I was trying to copy the cable knit design by using score lines, and when done, it looked more like basket weave – which I liked even more! I made other “baskets” and here they are (click on image to make it larger): Continue reading »
This card is for Tuesday’s Color Challenge – Becky chose soft suede (brown), soft sky (blue), pear pizzazz (green) and crisp cantaloupe (orange). The first time I saw these colors, I had a hard time envisioning them together, until I saw Becky’s card – simply stunning, right? This card is also a case of a case, LOL – Dockside’s card, which is a case of Sandie’s card – I love the layout and flowers of both cards! Continue reading »
I always look forward to Saturday’s Inspiration Challenge at SplitcoastStamper – you never know what website Adurie is going to pick, but you know for sure that you’re going to be inspired! This Saturday, she showed us her own Art of Journaling Pinterest board, and oh, my gosh, what a feast for the eyes! There were so many ideas, so many things to be inspired about, not only in art, but also in writing, I almost forgot to make a card, LOL! Anyway, after going over everything Audrie pinned, I went back to what “spoke” to me the most: this journal. I never tire looking at graceful curves, scrolls and spirals, and that’s what inspired me to make this paper piercing card.
We have close friends who will be celebrating their anniversary this month, and normally, I don’t make a card for anniversary. But, I missed their birthdays last February and March (it was a crazy time for me!), so this card is to-make-up-for-not-making-you-a-birthday-card kind of card, LOL! And it just so happened that Sandy’s Theme for The Paper Players this week is Wedded Bliss, yay! Also, Wendy’s challenge in Friday’s Free for All is to use a “wee bit o’ vellum” (or use a lot, LOL), so it’s for that challenge as well (I got lucky on that one).
This card is for a very special couple. I met the bride through the PCCrafter message board about 10 years ago, and even though the message board is gone, we have kept in touch. She is beautiful and kind, generous, courageous and strong, a person who deserves to be happy. I hope that someday, I will meet her and her husband in person.
