Here’s one more project I did with the Costume Parade set – just print, cut and tape since the template is already pre-designed on the set. Oh, and of course, don’t forget to put in your favorite Land o’ Lakes™ cocoa mix (mine is the caramel one…mmmm, smells wonderful and so delish!):

The Card Swap hosted by Mary/MEW  on the PCCrafter message board just finished another month of card making with rain  as the theme. I was almost late getting my cards to my swap partner, DeeDee, but I hope that by this time, she already got the cards I made.

While thinking of what cards to make, I realized that while living here in Southern California,  I’m almost always asking for it to rain.  The lack of rain has left most of California in drought conditions for several years already. When it does rain (and it has rained a bit more than usual this spring), my family and I just love it! We open the door and watch the puddles become bigger, or we watch the rivulets of water trace paths on the windows.

I confess that I did not always feel such affinity to the rain – growing up in the northern mountainous region of the Philippines, there were times when it would rain for three months straight (monsoon season). Everything was wet, gloomy and muddy, but the plants loved it – the whole landscape was green. I guess that most of us have mixed feelings regarding rain – and that is the  inspiration for these two cards I made:

Goodness gracious, has it been a month already since we started with Creating Christmas? Time seems to fly even faster when it’s the holiday season! I’m sure a lot of you are busy preparing as I am – what I’m glad to note is, the leaves are finally turning red and gold here in Southern California! I know, I know, it’s probably old news where you live, but when it finally happens here, I get excited, LOL! What’s more, it is also raining! California suffers from drought year after year, so we’re thankful for any rain we get. When the clouds clear up, we’ll get to see the mountain tops (the San Gabriel mountain range) covered with snow. I just love that – the snow on the mountains  –  not on the car, the driveway or the streets, LOL.  It’s  just the perfect time to craft some Christmas projects!

I’ve had requests for more Snookie graphics, and I’m working hard on it. But I couldn’t come up with a Christmas set because of time constraints, so I did a mini-set instead: Snookie Christmas. It contains the designed boxy treat bag that you see below,  then the same bag with a blank back for you to add your own sentiment.  It also includes the image of Snookie in a Christmas outfit holding a present (in colored and line art format, the colored one comes in jpg and png) and a “snowflaky” background.  And since it is our offering for Creating Christmas, you can download it for free! You can find Snookie Christmas at Gem’s Cottage, click on Store Front and you will see it among the new products for December. If this is your first time to download from my site, please check out the Download Instructions for a step by step guide with corresponding screen shots on how to download and install the files in your computer. Have fun!

I recently discovered Dare U 2 Digi Stamp and it gave me the inspiration to make this card and  to update my blog more frequently, LOL! I used the sketch indicated in DU2DS (with some minor changes) and am quite pleased with how it turned out (it reminds me of my kids).  Making the card itself was easy, it’s choosing the papers to use that took long – and I cannot identify where two of the papers came from because they are scraps! The blue one is from The Paper Patch – Antique Periwinkle. The digi stamp (or digital image or clip art as some may prefer to call it) is from the set Snookie – I chose the colored one already because I don’t trust myself coloring it yet with copics or prisma (can you tell I’m new to this? LOL).  For those who want to color the stamps themselves,  Gem’s Cottage also offers Snookie – Line Art. After printing the image at half its normal size, I cut it out then attached it with 3D Pop Dots. The sentiment was printed directly on the blue paper using the font Girls are Weird.
